This client, who wanted to complete a self-build, initiated contact with us following direction from a contractor we have previously worked with.

The site had previously gained planning consent for a property that did not meet the requirements of our client. As such we were commissioned to redesign and submit a new planning application.

The client provided sketches of their aspirations for the design and we were able to use these as a basis for the revised design whilst ensuring the proposal would be supportive of current planning policy and compliant with building regulations.

Due to the extent of the modifications to the approved design it was considered that a resubmission was the most appropriate planning route as opposed to a non-material or minor material amendment application. The full planning application was submitted and consent granted in 2017.

The client wanted to build a property that would be sustainable and efficient to run providing that the further development costs would provide a timely ROI. Discussions were had with regard to renewable energy and heating options in the absence of mains gas. It was decided to utilise an
air source heat pump.

The final property is a stunning contemporary home that is efficient to run meeting all of the aspirations the client approached us with.
