No Matter a project size A&K Architectural are always happy to help. The owners of this 3 bedroom, 3 storey house asked us to look at improving the bathroom. The existing bathroom was situated within the basement with only a very small window at ceiling level making ventilation and natural light highly limited.

Having looked at the option of creating a new bathroom by using one of the existing bedrooms it was decided that the best option was to build a small extension to the rear to create a new entrance lobby and bathroom, this would enable a design to include exterior windows and room for a separate shower, bath, basin and toilet. To bring in even more light a Velux window was fitted to the roof. The design approach is a timber frame structure with a brick/stone outer skin and a slated roof which is vaulted internally.

This simple solution to their dilemma fell within permitted development rights meaning the client only required building regulation documentation, saving them any planning fees and other unnecessary costs.
