This client approached us to design an annexe to the side of there property where a garage stood. The purpose for this development was to house a family member within close proximity for quick support when assistance is needed.
We used the existing footprint of the garage then extended beyond the rear of the existing property, adding a pitched roof with Velux windows to let light in and brighten up the living area.
The design is a one bedroomed open planned living space. To the rear is the bedroom which incorporates an ensuite bathroom. French doors from this room lead onto the garden and the annexe also has its own street door to the front.
The front of the development is made up of a comfortable kitchenette/living room. Linking the house with the annexe is a small corridor mainly for quick access when assistance or help is needed but also acts as an access to the rear garden from the existing house.
A & K Architectural Services created plans entirely based on the clients needs. We gained planning permission for the client closely followed by building regulation approval so our customer could start work.
